Think I might get this.

Edit: Bought it. I made some measurements (we have a Laguna of that gen in the family too) and with the front storage cubby cut off it might even fit the stock gearstick through the new part’s gaiter. If not I can cut back to the cupholder and blank the front off. Which would be extra good since I don’t have a useable cupholder at the moment.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And try my hand at some interior construction. Wanted an arm rest for ages (to my knowledge they never sold one with the Twingo even on high spec models) and this console has come up cheap. It’d obviously need some serious modification but I’m interested to see how it’d look. Plus I’d get to play with my Dremel which is always fun.

PS: if the formatting is crazy it’s because of Kinja’s general rubbishness.

Will do, will start taking more accurate measurements when it arrives. Already found some existing bolt holes I can use to attach it (with some simple custom brackets).

I’d get fed up with it too quickly and give up perhaps even before I started it so good luck

I like little jobs like this so I’ll crack on with it. Might take a while to get it exactly how I want it but it’ll get done. Hate not having an armrest, especially now I do over 100 miles a week.

Big job for me is important mechanical stuff. If I mess up engine work, no more car, mess up this I'm out £30. Not too bad.

And you can drive the car around with a disassembled interior. Not so much with disassembled brakes.

Exactly, I drove it for months with no rear seats, carpet or trim because I was using it to haul stuff about. I basically created my own Twingo van.

Good luck, I’m hoping you find a way to make this work, I’ve always been missing an armrest in my Twingo, so I might want to copy your idea if it works.

Thanks, looks like it’ll take a fair bit of custom work but should be doable. Issue is how much narrower the space between the seats is where the adjusters are. Will likely have to make the console taper up to the armrest.
